Are you tired of plain, boring fences that blend into the background?

Well, get ready to be amazed!

In this article, we will take you on a journey through the fascinating world of commercial fence manufacturing.

From the initial design to the final installation, we will show you how these fences are created with precision and care.

So, if you want to belong to a world where fences are not just functional but also visually stunning, keep reading!

Key Takeaways

  • Design and customize the fence to reflect the uniqueness of your business and complement the architecture and landscaping of your property.
  • Choose materials that match your aesthetic preferences, provide durability, and have been tested and proven to resist rust, corrosion, and fading.
  • Pay attention to fabrication and assembly techniques, ensuring clean and precise cuts, strong connections, and proper welding methods.
  • Apply protective coatings during the manufacturing process to enhance durability, improve aesthetics, and reduce maintenance and repair costs in the long run.

Designing the Fence

When designing the fence, you’ll need to consider factors such as height, material, and style. It’s important to have a fence that not only serves its purpose but also enhances the overall look and feel of your commercial property.

One of the key aspects to consider is the customization options available. Every business is unique, and your fence should reflect that. Whether you want a sleek and modern design or a more traditional and rustic look, there are customization options available to suit your preferences.

Additionally, aesthetic considerations play a vital role in the design process. Your fence should complement the architecture and landscaping of your property, creating a cohesive and inviting atmosphere. From ornamental details to color choices, every element should be carefully thought out to create a visually appealing fence that adds value and enhances your property’s overall aesthetic.

With these factors in mind, it’s time to move on to the next step: selecting materials that will bring your fence design to life.

Selecting Materials

When it comes to selecting the materials for your fence, choosing the right type of metal or wood is crucial. You want to make sure that the material you choose not only matches your aesthetic preferences but also provides the necessary durability and strength for your fence.

Additionally, considering the maintenance needs of the material is important to ensure that your fence remains in good condition for years to come.

Choosing the Right Type of Metal or Wood

One of the first steps in choosing the right type of metal or wood for commercial fences is considering the desired durability and aesthetic. When it comes to metal, options like aluminum and steel offer strength and longevity, while wood provides a natural and timeless look.

Here are some key factors to consider:

  • Vinyl fencing: Vinyl fences are low maintenance, resistant to rot and fading, and come in various styles and colors. They are also eco-friendly and can withstand harsh weather conditions.

  • Chain link fencing: Chain link fences are affordable, durable, and provide security. However, they may not offer much privacy and can be less aesthetically pleasing compared to other options.

  • Appearance: Consider the overall look and feel that you want your commercial fence to have. Metal fences can provide a modern and sleek appearance, while wood can offer a more traditional and rustic charm.

  • Maintenance: Think about the level of maintenance you are willing to commit to. Wood fences require staining and sealing to maintain their appearance, while metal fences may only need periodic cleaning.

  • Budget: Determine your budget and choose a material that fits within it while still meeting your desired durability and aesthetic needs.

When considering durability and maintenance needs, it is important to think about the long-term investment of your commercial fence.

Considering Durability and Maintenance Needs

To ensure the durability and low maintenance of your chosen material, consider factors like weather resistance and ease of cleaning. Durability testing is crucial to determine how well a fence can withstand the elements. Look for materials that have been tested and proven to resist rust, corrosion, and fading.

Maintenance best practices also play a vital role in keeping your fence in top condition. Opt for materials that require minimal upkeep, such as regular cleaning with mild soap and water. By choosing a durable and low-maintenance material, you can save time and effort in the long run.

Now, let’s move on to the next section about fabrication and assembly, where we’ll discuss the process of bringing your fence to life.

Fabrication and Assembly

When it comes to fabricating and assembling commercial fences, two key points you need to consider are cutting and shaping the materials, as well as welding or joining the components.

Cutting and shaping the materials is crucial in ensuring that the fence components fit together seamlessly and securely.

Welding or joining the components, on the other hand, is essential for creating a strong and durable fence that can withstand various weather conditions and external forces.

Cutting and Shaping the Materials

The first step in cutting and shaping materials for commercial fences is determining the correct measurements. Once you have the measurements, you can proceed with the cutting techniques and shaping methods to create the individual components of the fence.

Here are some important things to consider:

  • Use a high-quality saw or cutting tool to ensure clean and precise cuts.
  • Take into account any specific design requirements, such as angled cuts or curves.
  • Use appropriate safety gear, such as gloves and goggles, to protect yourself during the cutting process.
  • Consider the type of material you are working with, as different materials may require different cutting techniques.
  • Take your time and double-check your measurements to ensure accuracy.

Welding or Joining the Components

By following proper welding techniques and joining methods, you can seamlessly connect the individual components of the fence. Welding is a versatile and efficient method that allows you to create strong and durable connections between metal pieces. Whether you are working with steel, aluminum, or other metals, there are various welding techniques to choose from, such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding. These techniques involve the use of heat and electrodes to melt the metal and fuse it together.

Joining methods, on the other hand, involve connecting the components without melting the metal. These methods include using screws, bolts, or rivets to secure the pieces together. By mastering these techniques and methods, you will be able to create a fence that not only looks great but also stands the test of time.

As you gain confidence in your welding and joining skills, the next step in the manufacturing process of commercial fences is applying protective coatings. These coatings serve to enhance the durability and longevity of the fence by providing a barrier against corrosion, weathering, and other potential damages.

Applying Protective Coatings

To ensure durability, you’ll need to apply protective coatings to the commercial fences during the manufacturing process. By utilizing powder coating techniques and effective rust prevention methods, you can ensure that your fences will withstand the test of time and provide long-lasting protection for your property.

Here are three reasons why applying protective coatings is crucial:

  • Enhanced Durability: Protective coatings act as a shield, guarding the fences against harsh environmental conditions, such as rain, snow, and UV rays. This helps prevent corrosion and extends the lifespan of the fences.

  • Improved Aesthetics: A well-coated fence not only provides protection but also enhances the overall appearance of your property. With a wide range of color options available, you can choose a coating that complements your surroundings and adds a touch of elegance.

  • Cost Efficiency: By applying protective coatings during the manufacturing process, you can significantly reduce the maintenance and repair costs associated with rust and corrosion. This makes it a cost-effective solution in the long run.

Installation and Finishing Touches

Once you’ve chosen the perfect location for your fences, it’s time to begin the installation and add the finishing touches to complete the project. Installing your fences may seem like a daunting task, but with the right techniques and a little guidance, you can achieve a professional and polished result.

One important installation technique is to ensure that your fence posts are securely anchored in the ground. This can be achieved by digging deep holes and filling them with concrete, providing a solid foundation for your fences. Additionally, using a level and measuring tape will help ensure that your fences are straight and evenly spaced.

To enhance the appearance of your fences, consider incorporating decorative elements. Adding finials or post caps can give your fences a touch of elegance, while decorative panels or lattice work can provide a unique and personalized look. You can also paint or stain your fences to match your desired aesthetic.

Conclusion

So there you have it, the intricate dance of creating commercial fences.

From the careful design to the meticulous selection of materials, each step plays its part in crafting a sturdy and secure barrier.

Like a skilled conductor leading an orchestra, the fabrication and assembly bring all the elements together in perfect harmony.

And just as an artist adds the final strokes to a masterpiece, the application of protective coatings ensures longevity and durability.

With installation and finishing touches, these fences stand tall, a testament to the artistry of manufacturing.

The service and the work that was done was exceptional. We needed to replace three very old (and very heavy) garage doors in a home that was built in 1960. There were a number of challenges along the way and each one was met professionally and in a timely manner. Lisa was an excellent communicator and highly responsive. Kevin did an extraordinary job with a fairly involved installation. His 'can do' attitude was very refreshing and reassuring. As noted, the final result was terrific. The pricing was VERY reasonable and very fair. The install was completed two days ago and I have already received compliments from the neighbors!

On Oct. 31 my electric gate stopped working and I called Alpha Gate and Door and talked to Lisa. She was great and based on my symptoms said she thought it was the battery and she would send Kealan out the next day. He came and replaced the battery with a 12 v 55ah battery. I asked him to rehang my reflector light on my neighbors new fence so the motion sensor would work. It had worked fine prior to that being taken down. He did that and it worked for a minute and then stopped. He rewired it and it worked once and he left. The next day I noticed the sensor was not working but I didn’t really care because my dog is too small to trigger it. I was charged $448 -$169 for the service call, $249 for the battery and $30 to rewire the sensor. I work exclusively from home as an attorney and never even use the gate during the week. A few weeks later the gate stopped operation completely and I called on Dec. 6. Lisa said she would send Kealan out. He called me and I said the gate would not open at all, the sensor was not working and the sensor was making a nonstop buzzing noise. He arrived fairly late in the day and I saw him pull into my driveway but he did not come to my door and went straight to the gate. I immediately went out there and I saw when he opened the cover that the battery charger lights were not on. He was in a very bad mood and starting ripping the battery out and said I needed a new battery. I said I guess it was because the battery charger wasn’t plugged in. I was not mad about it because that can happen to anyone. He got really mad at that point, I guess because I knew what had happened. He demanded to know whether I had unplugged it, grabbed a huge battery that would not even fit in my unit, then declared the charger had “allegedly” not been plugged in. As he was trying to force the battery in and was slamming everything around, I asked him if he had a smaller battery. He said no, it was whomever installed my gate opener’s fault because the antenna was on the left and they were usually on the right. He continued to try to force it but could not get the cover on. So he gave up and said he would come back Monday with a smaller battery. I assumed the sensor was not working because the battery had died. I heard nothing from anyone the following Monday and had had it so I called Lisa and yelled and told her the way Kealan had behaved and when was the battery actually going to be installed. She said she would talk to Kealan and I said do you have anybody else who is not a jackass who could come instead. She said she would investigate and call me back. She never called me back and apparently the next day around lunch Kealan snuck onto my property, did not tell me he was there, and put in another battery and texted me the gate was now working. I went outside to try it and the remote was not working at all. I have programmed remotes many times (I have done a lot of products liability work and handled cases with complex machinery failures and deposed a lot of engineers so I am not unfamiliar with this type of equipment) and checked it and the receiver was getting the signal from the transmitter but the control board was not opening the gate.So I called Lisa, explained he had come but not told me he was there, and that the remote was not opening the gate. I also apologized for yelling at her the day before because it was not her fault. She said she would tell him. After that call I remembered there is a reset button on the Patriot control board so I went out and pushed it and that caused the remote to work so I called Lisa and said it was working. The new battery is smaller than the one he had originally put in and retails for about $95. The motion sensor still does not work, I have done jumping jacks in front of of it to know avail. I am not bothering to call again about that because Kealan would probably get really mad again. He does NOT like his competence put into question. You decide if $249 is a fair markup on a $95 battery.

I highly recommend Alpha Gate & Door Company! The entire process was incredibly quick and professional! I spoke with Lisa (she’s amazing and extremely knowledgeable) on Tuesday and she came out Wednesday with a recommendation to replace the gate opener that was faulty and couldn’t handle the weight of my gate. Keelan was just as courteous and professional as Lisa and did an amazing job! The install was perfect and pristine! I’ve tried working with other companies and honestly they are hands down the best!
