Key Takeaways

  • Following the manufacturer’s guidelines for installation and usage of commercial garage doors is crucial for ensuring warranty coverage and the safety and efficiency of the door.
  • Promptly addressing issues and handling warranty claims is important to prevent further damage, protect your investment, and expedite the resolution through proper steps and documentation.
  • Commercial garage door warranties do not typically cover damages caused by improper installation or usage, negligence in regular maintenance and inspections, acts of vandalism or intentional damage, natural disasters or extreme weather conditions, and modifications or alterations without manufacturer’s approval.
  • Regular maintenance of commercial garage doors is beneficial for warranty coverage as it prolongs the lifespan and functionality of the door, detects and prevents potential issues, complies with manufacturer’s maintenance requirements, and saves costs by avoiding major repairs or replacements.

Types of Commercial Garage Door Warranties

When it comes to commercial garage door warranties, there are typically two types available: manufacturer warranties and extended warranties.

Manufacturer warranties are usually included with the purchase of a new garage door and cover defects in materials and workmanship. These warranties ensure that if there are any issues with the door due to faulty materials or poor workmanship, the manufacturer will repair or replace the door at no cost to the buyer.

On the other hand, extended warranties offer additional coverage beyond the manufacturer’s warranty. These warranties often include coverage for parts and labor, providing further protection for the buyer. Extended warranties can be beneficial for those who want extra peace of mind and want to ensure that their garage door is fully covered.

However, it’s important to note that commercial garage door warranties have their limitations. They may not cover damages caused by accidents, misuse, or natural disasters. It’s crucial to carefully read and understand the terms and conditions of your warranty to know exactly what is covered and what is not.

In summary, when it comes to commercial garage door warranties, there are two main types: manufacturer warranties and extended warranties. Manufacturer warranties cover defects in materials and workmanship, while extended warranties provide additional coverage for parts and labor. It’s important to be aware of the limitations of these warranties and to thoroughly read and understand the terms and conditions to know exactly what is covered.

What is Covered by Commercial Garage Door Warranties

To get a clear picture of what is included in your commercial garage door warranty, imagine all the components and parts that are protected. Your commercial garage door warranty covers a wide range of potential issues, ensuring that you are protected against unexpected expenses.

If any of the covered components or parts fail during the warranty period, you can confidently file commercial garage door warranty claims and have them repaired or replaced at no additional cost to you. The warranty claim process is designed to be simple and hassle-free, allowing you to get your garage door back in working order quickly.

However, it’s important to note that not everything is covered by commercial garage door warranties. So, let’s dive into what is not covered and what you need to be aware of to avoid any surprises.

What is Not Covered by Commercial Garage Door Warranties

When it comes to commercial garage door warranties, it’s important to understand what is not covered.

Accidental damage or misuse, such as a forklift hitting the door or excessive force being used, is typically not covered.

Acts of nature or disasters, like hurricanes or floods, are also usually not included.

Additionally, if the garage door was not installed or maintained properly, any issues that arise may not be covered by the warranty.

So, make sure you are aware of these important exclusions before relying on your warranty.

Accidental Damage or Misuse

The warranty does not cover any damages caused by misuse or accidental damage. It’s essential to understand that preventing misuse and accidental damage is crucial to maintaining the longevity of your garage door.

Take the necessary precautions, such as training your employees on proper operation and parking techniques, and installing safety devices like sensors and warning signs. By doing so, you can minimize the risk of costly repairs and ensure that your warranty remains valid.

However, even with all the preventive measures in place, there are still other factors that can cause damage to your garage door. Let’s now transition to the next section and discuss how warranties handle acts of nature or disasters.

Acts of Nature or Disasters

Prepare yourself for the unpredictable forces of nature and unexpected disasters that can potentially wreak havoc on your commercial garage door. Acts of nature, such as storms, hurricanes, and earthquakes, can cause significant damage to your door, leading to costly repairs or even replacement.

Without proper insurance coverage, you may find yourself bearing the burden of these expenses. Don’t let nature’s wrath catch you off guard. Ensure that your commercial garage door is protected with a comprehensive insurance policy that covers acts of nature.

By doing so, you can have peace of mind knowing that your door is safeguarded against any unforeseen event.

Now, let’s transition to the next section and explore another potential threat to your garage door: improper installation or maintenance.

Improper Installation or Maintenance

Improper installation or maintenance can wreak havoc on your commercial garage door if not addressed promptly and appropriately. Don’t let negligence cost you time and money. Here are four key consequences of improper installation and the importance of regular maintenance:

  • Safety risks: A poorly installed or maintained garage door can pose serious safety hazards to you and your employees. Don’t compromise the well-being of your team.

  • Decreased lifespan: Neglecting proper installation and maintenance can significantly shorten the lifespan of your garage door, leading to costly repairs or even premature replacement.

  • Reduced efficiency: An improperly installed door can result in energy loss, increasing your utility bills. Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and energy efficiency.

  • Voided warranties: Failure to follow installation and maintenance guidelines can void your warranty, leaving you responsible for all repairs and replacements.

Now that you understand the consequences, let’s dive into understanding warranty terms and conditions.

Understanding Warranty Terms and Conditions

However, it’s important to carefully review the warranty terms and conditions in order to fully understand what is covered and what is not.

Don’t let warranty exclusions come as a surprise later on! By understanding warranty limitations, you can protect yourself from unexpected expenses.

Pay close attention to the fine print and make sure you know exactly what is included in your warranty.

Some common exclusions may include damages caused by improper installation, neglect, or lack of maintenance.

It’s crucial to follow the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule and keep records of all service and repairs.

By taking these precautions, you can ensure that your commercial garage door warranty remains valid and that you won’t be left with unexpected repair costs.

So, let’s dive into the next section and discover how you can make the most of your commercial garage door warranty.

Making the Most of Your Commercial Garage Door Warranty

Are you looking to make the most of your commercial garage door warranty?

Regular maintenance and inspections are key to ensuring that your warranty remains valid and that your door continues to function properly.

Proper installation and usage, along with prompt addressing of any issues or claims, will also help to maximize the benefits of your warranty.

Don’t miss out on the protection and peace of mind that a commercial garage door warranty can provide.

Regular Maintenance and Inspections

Regular maintenance and inspections are essential to ensuring that your commercial garage door warranty remains valid and covers any potential issues that may arise. By regularly maintaining your garage door, you can catch small problems before they become big, expensive repairs. Here are some key benefits of regular maintenance and annual inspections:

  • Increased lifespan: Regular maintenance can extend the life of your garage door, saving you money in the long run.
  • Improved safety: Inspections can identify any safety hazards, ensuring that your garage door operates smoothly and doesn’t pose a risk to anyone.
  • Enhanced performance: Regular maintenance keeps your garage door functioning properly, preventing unexpected breakdowns and disruptions to your business.

Remember, proper installation and usage are also crucial for keeping your warranty intact. So, make sure you follow the manufacturer’s guidelines and use your commercial garage door responsibly.

Proper Installation and Usage

To ensure your commercial garage door warranty remains valid and protects against potential issues, it’s crucial to properly install and use the door according to the manufacturer’s guidelines.

Proper installation is the foundation of a reliable and long-lasting garage door. Hiring a professional installer who is experienced in commercial garage doors will ensure every component is correctly assembled and functioning smoothly.

Additionally, using the door in the intended manner is essential for its longevity. Avoid overloading the door or subjecting it to excessive force, as this can lead to premature wear and tear.

Remember, following these guidelines not only guarantees your warranty coverage but also ensures the safety and efficiency of your commercial garage door.

Now, let’s move on to the next section and learn about promptly addressing issues and claims.

Promptly Addressing Issues and Claims

Now that you understand the importance of proper installation and usage of your commercial garage door, it’s time to delve into the next crucial aspect of maintaining your warranty: promptly addressing issues and handling warranty claims.

When it comes to ensuring the longevity and functionality of your garage door, time is of the essence. Any problems or malfunctions should be dealt with promptly to prevent further damage. By promptly addressing issues, you not only protect your investment but also maximize the benefits of your warranty.

Additionally, it’s crucial to understand the process of handling warranty claims. Knowing the proper steps to take and the necessary documentation to provide will expedite the resolution of any issues you may encounter.

Don’t let delays or confusion hinder your ability to take full advantage of your warranty – act swiftly and confidently!

The service and the work that was done was exceptional. We needed to replace three very old (and very heavy) garage doors in a home that was built in 1960. There were a number of challenges along the way and each one was met professionally and in a timely manner. Lisa was an excellent communicator and highly responsive. Kevin did an extraordinary job with a fairly involved installation. His 'can do' attitude was very refreshing and reassuring. As noted, the final result was terrific. The pricing was VERY reasonable and very fair. The install was completed two days ago and I have already received compliments from the neighbors!

On Oct. 31 my electric gate stopped working and I called Alpha Gate and Door and talked to Lisa. She was great and based on my symptoms said she thought it was the battery and she would send Kealan out the next day. He came and replaced the battery with a 12 v 55ah battery. I asked him to rehang my reflector light on my neighbors new fence so the motion sensor would work. It had worked fine prior to that being taken down. He did that and it worked for a minute and then stopped. He rewired it and it worked once and he left. The next day I noticed the sensor was not working but I didn’t really care because my dog is too small to trigger it. I was charged $448 -$169 for the service call, $249 for the battery and $30 to rewire the sensor. I work exclusively from home as an attorney and never even use the gate during the week. A few weeks later the gate stopped operation completely and I called on Dec. 6. Lisa said she would send Kealan out. He called me and I said the gate would not open at all, the sensor was not working and the sensor was making a nonstop buzzing noise. He arrived fairly late in the day and I saw him pull into my driveway but he did not come to my door and went straight to the gate. I immediately went out there and I saw when he opened the cover that the battery charger lights were not on. He was in a very bad mood and starting ripping the battery out and said I needed a new battery. I said I guess it was because the battery charger wasn’t plugged in. I was not mad about it because that can happen to anyone. He got really mad at that point, I guess because I knew what had happened. He demanded to know whether I had unplugged it, grabbed a huge battery that would not even fit in my unit, then declared the charger had “allegedly” not been plugged in. As he was trying to force the battery in and was slamming everything around, I asked him if he had a smaller battery. He said no, it was whomever installed my gate opener’s fault because the antenna was on the left and they were usually on the right. He continued to try to force it but could not get the cover on. So he gave up and said he would come back Monday with a smaller battery. I assumed the sensor was not working because the battery had died. I heard nothing from anyone the following Monday and had had it so I called Lisa and yelled and told her the way Kealan had behaved and when was the battery actually going to be installed. She said she would talk to Kealan and I said do you have anybody else who is not a jackass who could come instead. She said she would investigate and call me back. She never called me back and apparently the next day around lunch Kealan snuck onto my property, did not tell me he was there, and put in another battery and texted me the gate was now working. I went outside to try it and the remote was not working at all. I have programmed remotes many times (I have done a lot of products liability work and handled cases with complex machinery failures and deposed a lot of engineers so I am not unfamiliar with this type of equipment) and checked it and the receiver was getting the signal from the transmitter but the control board was not opening the gate.So I called Lisa, explained he had come but not told me he was there, and that the remote was not opening the gate. I also apologized for yelling at her the day before because it was not her fault. She said she would tell him. After that call I remembered there is a reset button on the Patriot control board so I went out and pushed it and that caused the remote to work so I called Lisa and said it was working. The new battery is smaller than the one he had originally put in and retails for about $95. The motion sensor still does not work, I have done jumping jacks in front of of it to know avail. I am not bothering to call again about that because Kealan would probably get really mad again. He does NOT like his competence put into question. You decide if $249 is a fair markup on a $95 battery.

I highly recommend Alpha Gate & Door Company! The entire process was incredibly quick and professional! I spoke with Lisa (she’s amazing and extremely knowledgeable) on Tuesday and she came out Wednesday with a recommendation to replace the gate opener that was faulty and couldn’t handle the weight of my gate. I received the reasonable quote the same day and their technician, Keelan, was at my house on Friday of the SAME WEEK to install. Keelan was just as courteous and professional as Lisa and did an amazing job! The install was perfect and pristine! I’ve tried working with other companies and honestly they are hands down the best! If there were 10 stars available, I would give them 10!
Thank you Alpha team!

Alpha Gate & Door recently replaced our 3-gate system thats used by over 250 residents and visitors on a daily basis.

Terry was excellent in guiding us from the first visit to the final inspection, including his experiences on what to expect and where any likely issues would occur. With a large property, that was critical to avoiding problems that could pop up.

The crews, clean up and invoicing were all done professionally.

We would strongly recommend Alpha Gate & Door for your gate access needs.

Once I sent over the pictures, I got another call around 1200, asking if they could come by today as a crew was finished early and could swing by to fix. The gate was fixed by 3:00 same day.
