Austin is the capital of Texas and that’s reason enough for you to visit. However, there are many other reasons why you should visit Austin. Below are a few of the many reasons to visit the capital of Texas today.

1. The Museums
One of the best things about Austin is it has many types of museums, including the Dallas Museum of Art, Houston Museum of Natural Science and the National Museum of the Pacific War to name a few. A must-visit is the Bob Bullock Museum, which will give you an in-depth look into Texas’ history. The Bob Bullock Museum has a number of exhibits on its three floors, and you’ll learn about the things, people, and places that have shaped the state. Regardless of the museum you decide to visit, you’ll want to put aside at least half a day, so you have plenty of time to explore.

2. Music
Austin is known for its music scene, especially its live music scene. A number of music festivals and venues that feature live music often take place at the Continental Club on South Congress. You have not seen anything like the shopping scene in Austin. It is truly a shopper’s paradise, and there are plenty of places you can shop at, which includes The Domain. The Domain houses over 100 retail stores, both mainstream and upscale, as well as many restaurants, hotels and apartments. 5. The Weather
Generally speaking, Austin has good weather, and even the winters aren’t that bad. In fact, the winters tend to be short and mild, while the summers are long and hots. If you’re a fan of good weather and being outside as much as possible, then you’ll love Austin.

The city does enjoy a good amount of sunshine all-year round, which means you can enjoy activities such as swimming and hiking, regardless of the time of year.
