By the end, you will have all the knowledge you need to make an informed decision and enjoy the peace of mind that comes with a reliable custom fence.

Key Takeaways

  • Transferability of warranty provides new owners with the same level of protection and ensures security and peace of mind.
  • The duration of the warranty varies and determines how long owners can rely on it for fencing issues.
  • It is important to understand the limitations and exclusions of the warranty, as well as the scope and restrictions.
  • Extended warranty options offer greater coverage and additional services, providing enhanced protection and peace of mind for owners.

Types of Custom Fencing Warranties

When it comes to custom fencing warranties, you’ll want to know about the different types available. One type that you might come across is the limited warranty. This type of warranty typically offers coverage for a specific period of time, and it may have certain limitations and exclusions. It’s important to carefully read and understand the warranty terms before making a decision.

Limited warranties usually provide protection against defects in materials and workmanship, but they may not cover damage caused by accidents or improper installation.

Another type of custom fencing warranty is the extended warranty. This type of warranty extends the coverage beyond the standard limited warranty period. It can provide additional peace of mind and protection for your investment. With an extended warranty, you may have the option to choose the duration of coverage that best suits your needs.

Understanding the different types of custom fencing warranties is just the first step in ensuring you have the right protection for your fence. The next section will delve deeper into understanding warranty coverage and what it entails.

Understanding Warranty Coverage

To fully grasp what is covered by your warranty, make sure to carefully read the terms and conditions. Understanding the warranty coverage is crucial to ensuring that you are protected in case any issues arise with your custom fence. The warranty duration and warranty terms vary depending on the manufacturer and the specific product. By familiarizing yourself with these details, you can have peace of mind knowing what is included and what is not.

Warranty duration refers to the length of time that the warranty is valid for. It is important to note that different components of your custom fence may have different warranty durations. For example, the warranty for the fence panels might be different from the warranty for the gate hardware. Be sure to check the warranty documentation for each specific component to understand the coverage for that particular item.

In addition to the warranty duration, it is crucial to understand the warranty terms. This includes the conditions under which the warranty is valid and what actions are required to maintain the warranty coverage. These terms may include requirements such as regular maintenance, proper installation, and adherence to specific care instructions.

By understanding the warranty duration and warranty terms, you can ensure that you fulfill the necessary requirements to maintain your warranty coverage. This will help you protect your investment and enjoy your custom fence for years to come.

Now, let’s move on to the next section, which covers the maintenance and care requirements for your custom fence.

Maintenance and Care Requirements

Taking proper care of your fence is essential to ensure its longevity and maintain its appearance. Regular cleaning and inspection will help identify any damage or wear and tear that needs immediate attention.

Additionally, following a painting or staining schedule will not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of your fence but also provide an added layer of protection against the elements.

Lastly, practicing proper use and maintenance, such as avoiding leaning or hanging heavy objects on the fence, will help prevent unnecessary damage and prolong its lifespan.

Regular Cleaning and Inspection

You should regularly clean and inspect your custom fence to ensure its longevity and performance. Regular cleaning is essential to remove dirt, debris, and grime that can accumulate over time and cause damage to the surface.

By inspecting your fence frequently, you can identify any potential issues such as loose boards, rusted hardware, or signs of rot. The frequency of your inspections will depend on various factors, including the climate, the material of your fence, and the level of exposure to elements. As a general guideline, it is recommended to inspect your fence at least once every six months.

By maintaining a regular cleaning and inspection schedule, you can catch any problems early on and prevent further damage.

Now, let’s move on to discussing the importance of having a painting or staining schedule for your custom fence.

Painting or Staining Schedule

Maintaining a regular painting or staining schedule is essential for preserving the appearance and longevity of your custom fence. By adhering to recommended painting frequency and staining guidelines, you can ensure that your fence remains in top condition for years to come.

Painting your fence not only adds a fresh and vibrant look to your property, but it also provides a protective layer against the elements. Depending on the type of material used for your fence, the recommended painting frequency may vary. However, a general rule of thumb is to paint or stain your fence every 2-3 years. This will help prevent any damage caused by weathering, moisture, or UV rays.

So, make sure to stay on top of your fence’s painting or staining schedule to maintain its beauty and durability.

To transition into the subsequent section about proper use and maintenance, it is important to note that painting or staining alone is not enough to ensure the longevity of your custom fence. Alongside a regular painting schedule, it is crucial to follow proper use and maintenance practices.

Proper Use and Maintenance

Using proper techniques and regular upkeep will help extend the lifespan of your custom fence. By taking preventative measures and avoiding common mistakes, you can ensure that your fence remains sturdy and attractive for years to come.

One important preventative measure is to regularly inspect your fence for any signs of damage, such as loose boards or rusted nails, and promptly address them. Additionally, it is crucial to clean your fence regularly to remove dirt, debris, and any potential sources of damage.

Avoiding common mistakes, like leaning on or climbing over the fence, will also contribute to its longevity. By following these guidelines, you can maximize the durability and appearance of your custom fence.

Now, let’s explore how to handle warranty claims effectively.

Handling Warranty Claims

When handling warranty claims, it’s important to thoroughly document all necessary information. This documentation is crucial for a smooth and successful filing process. To ensure that you have all the necessary information, consider the following:

  • Keep all receipts and invoices: These will serve as proof of purchase and help establish the start of your warranty period.

  • Take clear photos: Visual evidence is valuable when filing a claim. Take photos of any defects, damages, or issues with your custom fencing.

  • Keep communication records: Make sure to save any emails, letters, or other correspondence related to your warranty claim. This will help provide a clear timeline of your communication with the manufacturer or retailer.

By following these steps, you can ensure that you have all the necessary warranty documentation in place to support your claim. Remember, the more detailed and comprehensive your documentation, the stronger your case will be.

Now that you have a clear understanding of the filing process and the importance of warranty documentation, let’s move on to additional considerations when handling custom fencing warranties.

Additional Considerations

When it comes to considering additional aspects of your custom fencing warranty, there are three key points to keep in mind.

First, you’ll want to explore the transferability of the warranty, as this can greatly impact the value and potential resale of your property.

Second, it’s essential to understand the limitations and exclusions of the warranty, ensuring you have a clear understanding of what is covered and what is not.

Lastly, you may want to explore the option of extended warranty coverage, providing you with added peace of mind and protection for your investment in the long run.

Transferability of Warranty

If you decide to sell your property, you can transfer the warranty to the new owner. This is a significant advantage for you since it adds value to your property and gives potential buyers peace of mind.

When you apply for a warranty, make sure to inquire about its transferability. It’s crucial to know the duration of the warranty as well, as this will determine how long the new owner can rely on it for any fencing issues that may arise.

By transferring the warranty, you are providing the new owner with the same level of protection and security that you enjoyed during your ownership. This transferability demonstrates the commitment of the manufacturer to stand by their product and ensure customer satisfaction.

Now, let’s discuss the limitations and exclusions of the warranty.

Limitations and Exclusions

Now that you understand the transferability of your custom fencing warranty, let’s delve into some important limitations and exclusions you should be aware of.

While warranties are designed to protect you and your investment, it’s crucial to understand their scope and any potential restrictions. Here are a few key points to keep in mind:

  • Improper installation: If your custom fence is not installed correctly, it might void your warranty.
  • Normal wear and tear: Your warranty may not cover damages that occur due to natural aging or regular use.
  • Excluded damages: Certain damages, such as acts of nature or intentional misuse, may not be covered by your warranty.

Understanding these limitations will help you navigate the warranty claim process more effectively.

Additionally, it’s essential to note the warranty duration, as it varies based on the manufacturer and specific product. By being well-informed, you can confidently take advantage of the warranty benefits available to you.

Now, let’s explore the extended warranty options and how they can provide you with even greater protection for your custom fence.

Extended Warranty Options

One option to consider for additional protection is the extended warranty, which offers greater coverage for your custom fence.

With an extended warranty, you can have peace of mind knowing that your investment is safeguarded against unexpected damage or defects.

The benefits of an extended warranty are numerous. Firstly, it extends the duration of coverage beyond the standard warranty period, giving you added protection for a longer period of time.

Secondly, it often includes additional services such as regular maintenance or repairs, saving you money in the long run.

Lastly, the warranty claim process is usually streamlined and hassle-free, ensuring that any issues with your custom fence are addressed promptly and efficiently.

Conclusion

In conclusion, it’s crucial to understand the different types of coverage and maintenance and care requirements when it comes to custom fencing warranties.

By following these guidelines, you can ensure that your fence remains in top condition and maximize the benefits of your warranty.

Remember, a well-maintained fence is not only aesthetically pleasing but also provides security and privacy for your home.

So, don’t let uncertainty hold you back – take advantage of your warranty and enjoy the peace of mind it brings.

The service and the work that was done was exceptional. We needed to replace three very old (and very heavy) garage doors in a home that was built in 1960. There were a number of challenges along the way and each one was met professionally and in a timely manner. Lisa was an excellent communicator and highly responsive. Kevin did an extraordinary job with a fairly involved installation. His 'can do' attitude was very refreshing and reassuring. As noted, the final result was terrific. The pricing was VERY reasonable and very fair. The install was completed two days ago and I have already received compliments from the neighbors!

On Oct. 31 my electric gate stopped working and I called Alpha Gate and Door and talked to Lisa. She was great and based on my symptoms said she thought it was the battery and she would send Kealan out the next day. He came and replaced the battery with a 12 v 55ah battery. I asked him to rehang my reflector light on my neighbors new fence so the motion sensor would work. It had worked fine prior to that being taken down. He did that and it worked for a minute and then stopped. He rewired it and it worked once and he left. The next day I noticed the sensor was not working but I didn’t really care because my dog is too small to trigger it. I was charged $448 -$169 for the service call, $249 for the battery and $30 to rewire the sensor. I work exclusively from home as an attorney and never even use the gate during the week. A few weeks later the gate stopped operation completely and I called on Dec. 6. Lisa said she would send Kealan out. He called me and I said the gate would not open at all, the sensor was not working and the sensor was making a nonstop buzzing noise. He arrived fairly late in the day and I saw him pull into my driveway but he did not come to my door and went straight to the gate. I immediately went out there and I saw when he opened the cover that the battery charger lights were not on. He was in a very bad mood and starting ripping the battery out and said I needed a new battery. I said I guess it was because the battery charger wasn’t plugged in. I was not mad about it because that can happen to anyone. He got really mad at that point, I guess because I knew what had happened. He demanded to know whether I had unplugged it, grabbed a huge battery that would not even fit in my unit, then declared the charger had “allegedly” not been plugged in. As he was trying to force the battery in and was slamming everything around, I asked him if he had a smaller battery. He said no, it was whomever installed my gate opener’s fault because the antenna was on the left and they were usually on the right. He continued to try to force it but could not get the cover on. So he gave up and said he would come back Monday with a smaller battery. I assumed the sensor was not working because the battery had died. I heard nothing from anyone the following Monday and had had it so I called Lisa and yelled and told her the way Kealan had behaved and when was the battery actually going to be installed. She said she would talk to Kealan and I said do you have anybody else who is not a jackass who could come instead. She said she would investigate and call me back. She never called me back and apparently the next day around lunch Kealan snuck onto my property, did not tell me he was there, and put in another battery and texted me the gate was now working. I went outside to try it and the remote was not working at all. I have programmed remotes many times (I have done a lot of products liability work and handled cases with complex machinery failures and deposed a lot of engineers so I am not unfamiliar with this type of equipment) and checked it and the receiver was getting the signal from the transmitter but the control board was not opening the gate.So I called Lisa, explained he had come but not told me he was there, and that the remote was not opening the gate. I also apologized for yelling at her the day before because it was not her fault. She said she would tell him. After that call I remembered there is a reset button on the Patriot control board so I went out and pushed it and that caused the remote to work so I called Lisa and said it was working. The new battery is smaller than the one he had originally put in and retails for about $95. The motion sensor still does not work, I have done jumping jacks in front of of it to know avail. I am not bothering to call again about that because Kealan would probably get really mad again. He does NOT like his competence put into question. You decide if $249 is a fair markup on a $95 battery.

I highly recommend Alpha Gate & Door Company! The entire process was incredibly quick and professional! I spoke with Lisa (she’s amazing and extremely knowledgeable) on Tuesday and she came out Wednesday with a recommendation to replace the gate opener that was faulty and couldn’t handle the weight of my gate. I received the reasonable quote the same day and their technician, Keelan, was at my house on Friday of the SAME WEEK to install. Keelan was just as courteous and professional as Lisa and did an amazing job! The install was perfect and pristine! I’ve tried working with other companies and honestly they are hands down the best! If there were 10 stars available, I would give them 10!

Alpha Gate & Door recently replaced our 3-gate system thats used by over 250 residents and visitors on a daily basis.

Terry was excellent in guiding us from the first visit to the final inspection, including his experiences on what to expect and where any likely issues would occur. With a large property, that was critical to avoiding problems that could pop up.

The crews, clean up and invoicing were all done professionally.

We would strongly recommend Alpha Gate & Door for your gate access needs.
